Hear what happened when the Biscuit Trail prompted one man to say, “I’m sorry, I don’t know your name…”<\/p><\/blockquote>

The Biscuit Trail is designed to help Christians think through what they could do (or are already doing) to help others discover Jesus for the first time. It helps to encourage us in our next steps with talking about our faith with others.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Alan was looking through the Biscuit Trail with some colleagues and decided he wanted to think about what the next step would be in having a spiritual conversation with his neighbour. Alan shares his story:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cI had been praying for my neighbours, especially my Muslim neighbours, and having worked from home for over a year, I decided I wanted to use the Biscuit Trail to get to know them a little better. One of the suggestions in the Biscuit Trail is to list a few simple action steps to build on a relationship. I realised that I didn\u2019t know the name of the father of the family next door as we had connected with them, through our daughters becoming friends during lockdown, so for me step one was to ask his name.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

An Unexpected Conversation<\/h2>

O<\/span>ne day <\/span>as <\/span>I was returning home from dropping my daughter at school, he <\/span>pulled<\/span> up in his car<\/span>.<\/span> I waited<\/span>,<\/span> started <\/span>up a conversation and<\/span> then said “I’m sorry, I don’t know your name…” <\/span>After exchanging names, w<\/span>e continued chatting about all sorts; <\/span>holidays, <\/span>a<\/span> recent trip to space<\/span> on the <\/span>n<\/span>ews<\/span>, and several other things<\/span>.<\/span> W<\/span>e <\/span>eventually <\/span>got<\/span> chatting about what we do for work. It <\/span>transpired<\/span> that he <\/span>can’t<\/span> work <\/span>because<\/span> of an issue with<\/span> his <\/span>health<\/span>. He <\/span>shared with me <\/span>a little about how this was affecting him and the possible issues that could arise from it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Praying Together<\/h2>

I offered to pray for him. He said he had been praying too. I asked him if I could ask God on his behalf right there and then. He agreed, so I prayed that as Jesus opened the eyes of the blind when he was with us, that he would heal my neighbour and that the doctors would be amazed the next time they examined him.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We carried on talking about the Bible and the Qur’an and about Jesus raising people from the dead. I mentioned a story that Jesus used to illustrate his death and resurrection. He told me that the Qur’an talks more about Jesus than about Muhammed and that Muslims believe in all the prophets including Jesus. There is still more to come, more conversations to be had and please pray with me that my neighbour\u2019s health will be restored!\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
