While they were hearing the story of the exodus I realised they didn\u2019t know anything about it. They were surprised to hear the Israelites were in Egypt at all! Because they\u2019re quite well-educated people they felt that they should know that stuff, so I offered to do a few sessions on the story of the Bible and give them a rough outline.\u201d<\/p><p>The very first study session saw 10 people squeeze into her tiny living room. Another 23 folks expressed a desire to attend the second one. \u201cI had to hire a coffee shop,\u201d Sue remembers. \u201cIt was an extraordinary time.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-7b4bafea elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"7b4bafea\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-66 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-2dfad4cf\" data-id=\"2dfad4cf\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-25894a6a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"25894a6a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Sue pinpoints one reason why these evenings have hit a nerve amongst her peers. \u201cThere\u2019s a desire to learn about the Bible as a book, not just the odd verse or passage. Christians and non-Christians are interested in God\u2019s stories.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cThe intellectual level of the teaching is quite high but I always make sure the teachers don\u2019t use any jargon that would exclude people that are not familiar with the Christian world,\u201d she points out. As a person I\u2019ve calmed down a lot. I\u2019m more focussed and more chilled out, because I\u2019m filling up with more belief and love.\u201d<\/p><p>Sam, one of Sue\u2019s closest friends, has also been transformed by the sessions. \u201cHer desire to absorb the Bible has increased massively. Because she\u2019s had all these ideas, she passes on what she\u2019s learning.
