text finished&nbsp;tantalisingly: &#8216;I&#8217;ve got some great news for you!&#8217; and agonisingly,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/give.agape.org.uk\/jonnyandmiriam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Miriam Potts<\/a>&nbsp;(an Agap\u00e9 UK staff member in Newcastle) had to wait until she got to meet up with Ginika later that week to finally hear her story.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ginika has been an Agap\u00e9 UK Student Leader for a couple of years now, is studying at Newcastle University, and is a keen basketball player. She had been speaking with her friend, Dave, her sports psychologist, about faith and Jesus for months, and Miriam and her friends had been praying for Ginika and her conversations with Dave. Ginika had shared her story with Dave, about how and why she began following Jesus; Dave shared his own worldview with Ginika, and they both asked each other honest questions.<\/p>\n<p>When Ginika talked about following God&#8217;s will vs. her own will, Dave asked her in return, &#8216;So what <i>is<\/i> God&#8217;s will?&#8217;.&nbsp;Even when Ginika felt that she&#8217;d jumped too&nbsp;quickly into one conversation, to ask Dave: &#8216;What&#8217;s stopping you from becoming a Christian?&#8217; to her amazement, he wasn&#8217;t put off.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-3352229 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"3352229\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-b850bfa\" data-id=\"b850bfa\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-940ef9f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"940ef9f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Finally, just after Easter, when Ginika asked that same question again, Dave shared that he felt he could only be in a church building\u00a0to follow Jesus. Ginika encouraged Dave that, in fact, there is nothing that stops us from taking the decision to follow Jesus right where we are \u2013 right here, right now!<\/p><p>That&#8217;s one of the reasons why Jesus died: so that we can have direct access to God, when we talk \u2013 or pray \u2013 to Jesus. That was why the tearing in half, from top to bottom, of the giant curtain in the Temple in Jerusalem (Mark 15:38) at the precise moment Jesus died on the cross, was so\u00a0symbolic.
